Model-making is a fascinating hobby requiring skill and patience. Aircraft and boats are sometimes working models that can actually fly or sail. The people who build them are often called enthusiasts, as they spend a lot of time creating the models and then enjoy meeting other keen model-makers. Sometimes they hold competitions to find the best performer, racing their models against each other.
