This panel tackles the publishing journey from all sides.  We’ll hear from a publisher, a self-published, award-winning non-fiction author, a self-published picture book author and a YA author published by a major publisher.

Lucinda Sharp

After a career in ballet and psychology, in 2012 Lucinda moved to Hobart where she and her husband, Chris Champion, own and run Forty South Publishing, publishers of the state's iconic magazine, Tasmania 40° South, and the largest book publisher in Tasmania.

Janice Sutton

Janice Sutton is a former BBC national radio journalist, writer, author and publisher of international award-winning books Garlic Feast and Tomato: know, sow, grow, feast.

Jackie Merchant

Jackie Merchant has worked as a designer, art director and copy writer.  She currently lives in Tasmania. The Promise Horse is her debut novel.

Sharon Yaxley

 

Sharon’s literary journey began three years ago and she has written, illustrated and published five children’s books based in Tasmania with the assistance of Forty South Publishing.

Dunstan and Theodore, Theodore Swims in the Sea, Dunstan and Theodore Set Sail, Dunstan and Theodore Hide and Seek and Sea Monsters.
