Practical Science Series

This book contains a set of practical lessons, ideas and worksheets to explore the strand of Natural and Processed Materials. Specific activities focus on common materials and their properties. Students will use their senses of sight, smell, touch and taste to learn more about these materials. A range of science skills will be developed through these activities including collating information, writing observations, making assessments of the properties of materials, conducting a survey from home, and graphing. Educational website references have been included where possible. All activities are outcome linked to the science strands of state curriculum documents.
