My Word Detective Book is a personal spelling dictionary organised by phoneme/grapheme relationships.
Designed to support students by highlighting the target grapheme in the word. Prompting students memory with the mneumonic.
Challenges students by encouraging them to find alternative graphemes for each phoneme.
In the classroom the My Word Detective Book is for teacher lead small group work. Students can find and write words from our Pip and Tim books, to be used as a personal dictionary to support independent writing. Assists students to develop vocabulary and comprehension skills by writing words in a sentence.
