Emperor penguins have a fascinating life cycle that is different to other species in several ways: they are larger; they live further south in Antarctica; they breed during freezing winter; they never touch land, living on ice and in water. Antarctica is a severe environment the coldest place on Earth, without any daylight for half of every year.
